Where do I start to getting into making electronic music?

I have always listened to drum and b, trance, but recently got a lot more into it. I really like Paul Van D. Benny Beni, Felix Da Housecat etc......I am just curious where I should start with some beginning stuff. Is there specific software i need to get? Thanks for the help.
