Modern violin/orchestra music?

Try listening to Andrew Bird. I'm not sure if he is your cup of tea, but I like his music and think it is unique. He most fits with the alternative/indie genre, but his music is interesting and his lyrics are great. Two of my favorite songs are Fake Palindromes and Imitosis.
