Should i end it with him?

ive been seeing a guy for over amonth now. things were fab at first texts everyday,real sweet ones too and now i always have to text him first and he told me we cant get too close as he lives 50miles away and is only working up here for a few months. im really getting attatched to him and hurting so much inside. he said hes only being like this saying not get too close so i dont fall for him as he doesnt want it end in heartbreak. what should i do. should i just cut him out completly and see if he comes running back??
